| Bonny Doon Fire |

Dear Family and Friends, We returned home on Saturday morning (6/14), and discovered our home and studio were safe from the fire. I deeply thank my sister Annabelle and Mary for keeping us updated as we evacuated to Los Gatos. The fire bordered our property, and came within 100 feet at our home, and 50 feet of our studio. The fire captain said it's a miracle that our home is still standing. The firefighters and firebreaks saved our home and we will always be grateful. They've traveled from all states to fight the fire and risk their lives. The bulldozers came onto our property while the fire was burning quickly down Martin Road. They made 30 foot wide fire breaks surrounding each structure. On Sunday, the inmate fire crew cleaned up all the brush and trees torn up by the bulldozer. They put it all in piles and today they are chipping it. They are extremely hard workers, and are doing an amazing job. While they are rehabilitating the land, they themselves are too. It is a wonderful program our state has. The ecological reserve that borders our property is all burned - about 80% of it is gone. For all those asking: My sister Annabelle's home is safe, the Lavender Farm is safe, as well as my brothers home. Thank you for all your thoughtful emails and good wishes -- I appreciate each and every one. I believe all your prayers helped to protect our homes. I also want to thank my daughters family in Los Gatos, Wendy, Ken, Olivia, Catherine, Aspen and Sienna, for taking all of us in, including our dogs, and making us feel so comfortable and loved.
